About the studio

A small studio,
built to last.

Jinova Systems is an engineering studio that builds and operates its own products, and takes on a small number of client engagements alongside them. The same engineering rigour goes into both, because we ship what we recommend.

Origin

How we got here

Before Jinova, the work was in heavier domains: autonomous-driving simulation, robotics environments for reinforcement learning, and ML training pipelines. Engineering for physical-world systems where mistakes are expensive and edge cases are everything.

Jinova Systems is the smaller, focused version of that practice. We carried the rigour over and applied it to the kind of software lean teams actually need: web products, automation, AI tooling, and the occasional 3D or simulation project when one earns its way in.

We run KokoroLinks, JapaneseCompass, and GoShizen, which span events, education, and agriculture. They look diverse on a page; in practice each one started with a real problem we ran into and decided to solve with the smallest tool that worked.

Operating principles

How we work

Four habits we hold to whether we're shipping our own product or someone else's.

01

Skin in the game

We run our own products. The architectures we recommend to clients are the ones we already trust on systems we depend on.

02

Small, sequenced shipping

Deliverables in two-to-four week increments. Working software at every checkpoint. No big-bang reveals at the end.

03

Designed for handoff

Documentation is part of the product. Code is written to be read and maintained by other people, including future us.

04

Honest scope

If a problem doesn't need a project, we say so. The smallest tool that solves it properly is usually the right one.
